A coffee-aholic's dictionary:
a shot- a infusion of life or also known as a compression brewed, shot glass worth of coffee. A very strong dose in a small amount.
a latte- yummy in a cup or also known as a shot of coffee mixed with milk (or soy milk)
a white mocha- one of my favorite beverages or also known as a latte with white chocolate syrup or sauce added. Note: sauce is always better than syrup. When in doubt choose sauce!
an americano- better than a cup of coffee or also known as a shot(s) combined with water to make in essence a cup of coffee. The difference: it's a bit stronger and smoother (if made correctly)
12 seconds- the amount of time a shot lasts before it "burns." Ever wonder why your drink sometimes tastes like the coffee is burnt? It's probably because your shot expired. To save a shot it must be added to milk or water. If either is added before the 12 second mark then the shot will be saved. Hallelujah!
a pumpkin spice latte- fall in a cup or also known as a latte with pumpkin added (also see white mocha)

Cowboys Touch
Warm and fluffy would describe Denise Hunter’s new release Cowboy’s Touch. In the book Abigail
Jones leaves her workaholic lifestyle for a health mandated vacation. She ends
up in Moose Creek, Montana to relax and check in on her elderly aunt. Through a
series of events, and to cope with her lack of work, she ends up taking a
position as a nanny for the local rancher Wade Ryan. From there the story takes
its form. A form that was quite predictable. A romance dogged by trouble. The
lack of originality in its form detracted from the book for me. I wanted to be
surprised but ended up with the same old romance formula. Yet I will say it was
a well written typical romance. The characters drew me in and pulled at my
heart strings, the romance between Wade and Abigail still made me warm inside,
and it held my interest until the very end. Cowboy’s
Touch was warming in its details but just fluff in its plot line. I feel
like I should add to all of this that I am actually a very big fan of Hunter
and her book, The Convenient Groom, is one
I have read multiple times. (I always say that if you want to read a book more
than once then it must be good!) I think Hunter is a good writer and I have yet to
put down one of her books in lack of interest. If I was to give you a recommendation for this
Hunter book I would say read it. Cowboy’s
Touch is worth a read I just would add a tasty peppermint white chocolate americano
to the mix to make up for the surprise that is lacking.

The Charmed Life
Being a book lover I can say I have read an abundance of christian chick-lit and am always avidly looking for more. Being that I am an adult I tend to stick to the adult section. Yet I was willing to stray for Jenny B. Jones' The Charmed Life series. I have read the first two books So Not Happening and I'm So Sure and am biting at the bit to read the third, So Over My Head. What I loved about these books is that they kept me interested the whole time. They are about Isabella Kirkwood and her life from riches to rags. After a parental split Bella is forced to move from her glam life in NYC to her new step-dad's farm in Oklahoma. From there you can be assured comedy and calamity ensue. The books are laugh out loud funny. If I can be found giggling into my latte I am impressed. Not only did the books hold humor they also held intrigue and a hint of romance. All three elements combined together kept coming back for more. More and more I am finding it difficult to find a clever chick-lit but I found one (or three in this case.) I just had to skip over to the teen section to do so. So grab your pumpkin spice latte and this series. You won't be dissappointed with either!
